šŸ“¢Talk like Ted by Carmine Gallo

Great advice and examples on successful public speaking. My favorite tips were to make an emotional connection, not to read your slides, and to speak with your body language.

🧘Tranquility by Tuesday by Laura Vanderkam

Another helpful planning and productivity book. I loved the focus on some of the fundamental aspects of the genre. The section on sleep gave me some new knowledge on a well-worn topic. I am taking on her challenge to build a 100-item bucket list.

šŸ’»The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age by Catherine Steiner-Adair

A deep dive into understanding how devices and the digital world impact us at different ages. The section on how influential adult modeling of technology use is on our kids was a powerful reminder.

šŸ“˜The Danaher Diaries 2021

The collected social media posts from martial arts coach, John Danaher. This is probably only interesting to Jiu-Jitsu people. My favorite takeaway was his insight on how although champions are often very different in their style and attributes, they have all developed the ability to maintain a calm mind in difficult situations.

ā“The Answer to How is Yes by Peter Block

A radical guide to taking on the personal responsibility to bring your soul into organizational life. This was a re-read, which shows you how much I like this book.

🦔Where the Deer and the Antelope Play – Nick Offerman Shout out to Brinton Johnson who recommended I read Nick Offerman. I don’t know much about his acting career, but he is a great writer. I chose this title from Nick’s catalog, because I love hiking and national parks. I enjoyed Nick’s storytelling about his…
