Back on track with five down in November and only five more to go in December to hit my goal of 60 books in 2024!
Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferris
The sheer size of this book is intimidating, but I actually found it to be one of my easiest reads of the year. Short interviews make it extremely snackable. Many good book recommendations await you. I like to keep track of common themes across successful people in different domains. It is also interesting to read perspectives from the outliers.
Confronting Our Freedom by Peter Block and Peter
Koestenbaum
Block brings Koestenbaum’s existential philosophy to the world of organizational leadership.
Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman
Daily readings to coax the imperfectionist out of us and propel us forward to actually getting things done.
Who Wrote This? By Naomi S. Baron
An examination of why we write and what it all means. How will generative AI change how we write and by extension how we think?
How to be a High School Super Star by Cal Newport
Advice to help high school students get into top colleges without burning themselves out. I read it more to complete the Cal Newport collection than anything else. The philosophy in his later books is already apparent here. Focus on a few things, don’t try to do too much, become deep and interesting. The advice here is relevant to all ages who want to stand out from the crowd.
