This has become my meditation mantra. When the too many things to do start swirling into my conscious view, I remember to return to my breath. I know I will never be done. But I need to remind myself that I am enough right now and always. It’s all a bit cheesy, I know. Nevertheless, I cannot deny that it works for me. My mantra helps me put my commitments and aspirations aside so that I can enjoy a short moment where just being is enough. Our inner monologue can be a natural taskmaster, and that role certainly has its utility. It can also be a kind and compassionate friend that reassures us that we are worthy. Mine needs some prompting to encourage it to play its roles more equally.
I am Enough
